Georgia is the fourth largest state in America in terms of total area. It is also one of the fastest growing states when it comes to population, business growth, and industry expansion. In a relatively short amount of time, the economy of Georgia has grown and become very diverse. As a result, trucking services have been highly sought after to keep businesses and the state economy moving forward.
Atlanta is Georgia’s capital and largest city. The population within city limits is only 486, 411; however, the Atlanta metropolitan area has well over five million people. The metro area has become one of the fastest growing areas in the nation, with a 20.5% increase in population since the year 2000.
In the past, Atlanta has been a regional commerce city, but over the last few years, it has become an important city with international business influence.
Georgia Industry
Industrial Manufacturing – Perhaps Georgia’s largest industry, industrial manufacturing covers a wide range of product production including transportation equipment, pulp and paper, and food processing. Georgia also manufactures chemical products, electric equipment, and textiles (carpet and apparel).
Agriculture – Georgia’s agricultural outputs include poultry, eggs, dairy products, vegetables, and turfgrass. The state is most well-known for its production of peaches and pecans.
Minerals – Clays, sands, and a variety of stones come from Georgia.

Georgia Climate
The Peach State has a subtropical and humid climate. With the exception of the highest elevations (in the Blue Ridge Mountains), Georgia typically has mild to cold winters and extremely hot and humid summers. Temperatures in the summer are known to exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with nearly 100% humidity.
The entire state also receives substantial precipitation, usually in the form of rain. Across the state, annual rain fall averages anywhere from 45 to 75 inches.
